My Pen Mates,

I don't know how many times I've touched on the subject, but I surmise that the general theme of this blog has been self-examination and exploration. Eccentric composition aside, this has been a good avenue for me to eviscerate my thoughts, sometimes mindless of any effort to be understood.

By and large I'd say that life is complex this way. We all seek to understand while trying to be understood. Some of us pay more attention to one than the other; most of us not paying attention at all, although never exempt from the obligation. The long and short of it is that it's both drama and comedy, this life; it's both intense and mundane, significant and trivial. It's the chaff and the grain metaphor that encompasses reality, choice, good and bad. It's hardly a unique perspective and the ancients have the yin and yang to label it, but its depth takes contemplation for its worth to be appreciated. The Laws of Physics, of action and opposite equal reaction gives it scientific probative confirmation!

I guess I'm expressing resignation, but it's more acceptance. Again this is not a new character trait, only an affirmation of my resistance to learning. But we all need to take the good with the bad. The trade-offs may be subtle or blatant, but we do make choices or the choices are made for us. I enjoyed the winds and the rain this past Tuesday. The minor street flooding were somewhat nostalgic too. Traffic was bad as a result, plus the winds broke some tree limbs which fell on power lines, which tripped street signals..... then there are the mudslides and structure damages..... then the clean up.....

It's taken my lifetime so far to get acquainted and familiar with the precarious balance between wanting and getting what one deserves. The punishment seldom fits the crime, but only as filtered by our naive human minds. But just like the Seasons come and go irrespective of our will and desire, our assessments of our own personal situation is relative to that mental and emotional state that we place ourselves in. For the worst misery is crafted in the head; the world continues to revolve whether you see it as scorched by the punitive sun, or swathed by comforting sunshine.
